FishingChamp MMO Open Beta

You know it had to happen…. a massive multiplayer online fishing game. What’s next? A Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego MMO?

An open beta for FishingChamp, “the world’s only 3D fishing MMO”, will be held until August 23rd, 2007. Straight from the press release:

“Players will be able to play FishingChamp uninterrupted the entire time during the open beta session.”

“A special event has been set-up for players that play the game during this period. Any player who catches a fish that is at least 40 centimeters long will receive an exclusive FishingChamp Bass stress reliever. This unique item is great at the office, school or at home. Players on all maps qualify to participate in this event.”

Yay for stress relief! I always like to slap my co-workers with a FishingChamp Bass stress reliever. After all, they are always complaining about me cleaning my fish at my desk. Why not return the love? According to their site, winners will be announced on September 1st. The website also mentions the aforementioned prize is limited to the first 100 players. So hurry up and don your fishing vest (and hat) and get in on that beta. Six-pack not included…
