After announcing the PSN exclusive, The Punisher: No Mercy — along with the odd fact that it will be primarily a multiplayer FPS — Zen Studios has now unveiled a few screenshots for the game. Sadly, only one of them shows some actual FPS action from the game, but at least we know what it will look like now. The new screens were also accompanied on the Playstation Blog by an interview with Zen Studios’ Managing Director, Zsolt Kigyossy, where he revealed a handful of new details about the game. Aside from confirming a wide array of weapons, trophy support, and download size (possibly 1GB or more), he also revealed the existence of a single-player campaign. Unfortunately, it sounds basically like a series of challenge rooms linked together by a story; but you’ll still have to play through it to unlock all the elements of the game. You’ll also be able to select special abilities before a match, but they’re not releasing more details on that until later.
Well, the game sounds at least a bit more interesting, but I still don’t see what any of this has to do with The Punisher or how it’s much different from all the other shooters out there. Guess we’ll have to wait for more details to see if anything stands out. Until then, you can peek a couple more screenshots after the break.
