First Look at MAG on the PS3 (i.e. One Screenshot)

MAG was certainly one of the more interesting announcements at Sony’s E3 press conference (not that it had much competition). The game doesn’t exactly sound like anything other than your typical online military shooter…oh, except for the fact that you can have 256 individual players waging war all at once. Players can break up into 8-person squads to make the action more manageable, but the fact is that the game is promising to feature some truly massive battles. Today, Senior Producer for the game, Rade Stojsavljevic, has confirmed that the huge scale will not compromise the gameplay. You’ll still be able to control vehicles and run around shooting enemies like any other game, except of course it will be with 255 other people. He also offered up this screenshot to show how the game will look during actual play. As you can see, the graphics already look impressive by themselves, but even more impressive is the idea that each of those paratroopers is an actual player. We’ll have to see if that many people can actually work together online though.
