The first dual layer Wii disc ripper has surfaced on the internet. This is great news for hackers and terrible news for Nintendo. The Japanese coder who goes by ‘Nekokabu’ has apparently creating this new dumping utility that allows people to create backup dual-layered Wii discs. He uploaded videos to YouTube showing the procedural steps, but those videos have been removed.

I don’t dig on piracy, but I would honestly like to be able to back up my game collection. Too many times I’ve had discs get damaged and then have to rebuy them. That sucks bad.

used_c I know what you mean. The consumer should have the right to back up their own games. By law, they do have the right. It’s just a shame that they try to punish us all for the actions of a few.
