Sam & Max developer Telltale Games recently made the wishes of many gamers come true when they announced that their classic comedic duo would be headed to Wii. While it’ll come in the form of a typical retail game, Telltale is working on something for WiiWare, although they won’t spill the beans just yet, but an announcement is coming very soon.
You guys have a WiiWare title that has been announced. Are we going to hear about this next week at Nintendo’s media summit?
Yep, you should.
Is that going to be a full announcement? Are we going to see screenshots, videos?
Yeah, right now we’re definitely working towards pulling all that together, getting it ready. So barring any last-minute disasters, we should have a whole, full package for everybody.
So obviously you can’t tell me what it is, but can you give me a cryptic hint?
I’m tempted to give you a cryptic hint, but our audience is so diligent in figuring stuff out, and the audience that we’ve licensed are diligent in figuring stuff out, that they would figure it out in a second if I gave you any inkling. So all I can say is that it’s an equally attentive audience, dedicated audience, to the Sam & Max audience.
I’m still trying to catch up on the Sam & Max episodes, but I’ve been loving every minute of them. So I’m naturally very excited for whatever it is that Telltale has up their sleeve. Breathing life back into the point-and-click adventure genre – particularly on Wii – has been a godsend, as I think any Sam & Max fan will tell you.
