I beleive that if they are going to look into his gaming history they should pay attention to what games he played, as he didn’t play violent videogames they should look into mental health records and not focus on blaming the game industry.

man, ive always hated the violent video game crap. if people are getting the ideas from video games, where do the video games get the ideas from? maybe they should focus on the real reasons, like mental illness and bad parenting.

Lmao. I mean, yes, the VT incident was a tragedy, but whenever “video games” are involved, the media and the anti-video game groups alwas say “see what happens when you play too much violent games?!”.

No, I mean, just no. Whatever those groups EVER assume about video games is almost always wrong. The next thing they’re going to do is probably attempt to ban all video games in an effort of “all video games are bad, even the kooshey-cuddley ones like Sonic”.

yeah i think a lot of it has to do with our sue happy culture as well. say they had booted him from campus.. then all kinds of groups would have backed him up in a major law suit against the school.

I’m with you William. Our failed medical industry is really to blame for all of those deaths, not the gaming or entertainment industry. Cho’s mental illness was known about even by officals on campus! So why was he allowed to remain? was it fear of being sued? I don’t get it. So everyone, please back up off of the publishers and focus on the REAL problem. ***plink plink*** (the sound of my 2 cents)

i don’t think we need more weapons laws in the U.S. The real problem is how they are enforced and monitored. This guy was able to legally purchase his firearms even though he had a long history of mental illness. I could really argue that the American medical industry has failed us.

The Media SHOULD really apoligize to the gamers,they talk about games brainwashing people into murderers and …I’m really sorry for those who sufferd that day(family…….)In Belgium there was a racist shooting incident,2 people where killed,1 month later the weapon-law was changed drasticlly,why not here???

yeah it’s a big shock. I’m not sure how the world of the press is in other countries, but in America we have memories that are too short. 4 months has passed and most people have forgotten all the things that were said by the press and by others. JT’s insane claims and the nasty words from Dr. Phil are all part of the past and I really think no one remembers.

Perhaps one day we will hold people accountable for their actions.

I’d like to see the media obligated to release a massive apology to gamers, and the public in general, just so Joe Everybody that heard about how he gamed with the shooters realises it was all misinformation.
Oh, and I’d also like world peace, a million dopllars in cash, Paris Hilton as a mistress, and a copy of Halo-3 on my doorstep this afternoon. Yeah, right.
