Final Fantasy XI Hammers Cheaters

Bungie isn’t the only company lowering the ban hammer on cheaters. Square Enix has assembled a Special Task Force to root out and ban or suspend 7,900 Final Fantasy XI accounts for violating the terms of the user agreement. Targeted accounts are those using cheats to automatically repeat particular actions (specifically illegal fishing), hunters repeatedly killing the same monsters to accumulate gil for Real Money Trading (RMT) and accounts using synthesis and auction houses for RMT.
Buyers Beware. Accounts accumulating gil for RMT aren’t the only ones being targeted. The task force is also target those caught illegally purchasing gil.
The Special Task Force views both gil buying and gil selling as violations of the user agreement and has taken a policy of dealing out penalties to each violator according to the severity of the violation. All penalties for each account remain on record, are accumulated, and if a player repeats a violation of the user agreement, a stricter penalty will be dealt out than the previous one on record. Of course, depending on the details of the violation, there are players who are banned on their first violation. In accordance with this policy, a total of 450 accounts were temporarily suspended or banned within the space of a month for illegal gil purchasing.
My guess is they would not look favorably on Sparter.

This is a big uh-oh for players who aren't even doing either of the above. From my personal Experience, Square-Enix is a loaded gun ready to fire, and damn the consequences.
A big part in my decision to stop playing that game had to do with the ass-hattery the GMs have.
