Final Fantasy VII Petition Approaching 20,000 Signatures

Jonathan reported on the Final Fantasy VII petition approaching 14,000 signatures a few weeks ago. The petition was sent to Square Enix after 10,000 signatures with no positive results. Square Enix has issued statements claiming that they will not be developing the game. Members of the Final Fantasy XIII team have stated that they would love to develop a remake of Final Fantasy VII, so if support continues for the idea, I am sure something might happen. Check out the petition HERE and show your support for a remake of one of the greatest games of all-time.

It’s way to early to release a remake. At least wait till Playstation 4 comes out. Do people want a really great looking remake, or just one with higher resolution and textures? Think about it.
It’s the tenth anniversary of VII this year, it should have been released already tbh.
19510 signatures. I signed but I may be one of the few who played but never finished it. I got stuck in an area and quit.
this is 1 of the best ff games ever would be great for it to get a remake id be buying it deffinately
I take a lot of flak from my friends because I really didn’t dig it as much as some of the earlier SNES games or even some of the later PSX ones, but Square Enix has been releasing remakes and ports of the Final Fantasy games for a while and there’s no doubt that something as overwhelmingly popular as FF VII will eventually get a remake. They’re probably taking their time to not disappoint fans and keeping it secret for now to make a big announcement in the future.
stupid fan boys, I love FFVII but damn it this game does not need to be remade, at least not before FFVI.
To the person who says that it is way to early for a final fantasy remake…what drugs are u on? It has been ten years since its release and remakes/updations for final fantasy games have been done it less than half of that time.
Oh it is beyond time for all original playstaion games to be ported or remade…simply becuase they are the only old titles to be neglected.
I’m not on any drugs bud.
Then simply learn the facts before posting. People have been saying its to early for five years…they just keep saying it cus they are used to it and if they wanted to they would say it for another five.
Wake up people
I agree with weclock. I think a ff VI remake for a console would be awsome, although I wouldn’t complain about FF VII either. FF VI has got to be several years older than FFVII. I would prefer when/if either of them get remade to change the cut scenes to anamated/voice acted etc. I don’t think either of them lend very well to adding/extending to the story.
ff7 has gotta be one of the best games to come out and is in need of lets say a “face lift” because with the new technology this would be a must have for any RPG or ff fan i mean how do u beat Nobuo Uematsu’s Musical score along with great memorable characters this would be a great PS3 title common Sqaure-Enix dont shut the door on this epic journey just yet listen to the fans!!!
I think it will come out, just give it some time.
Not too far ago it was very difficult to get one.
Wait until there’s a big stablished base of PS3 consoles and then release the big hit.
Although, given the fact that FF7 is the best game they ever made, it kinda makes sense for them to wait as much as they can (PS4?) to make sure the remake is the best game ever.
Keep in mind the FF-series in general will get old sooner or later, when things start to get slow, then’s the perfect time to release the nuke.
Wow, its been a long time. I never thought I’d see the day when Starcraft two came out before a FF7 remake. *cries* not that i hate SC or FF7 >_>.
there is no greater game
Its me again. I decided to notify Square about 20000, so here is the response
