Will there be a Final Fantasy VII PS3 announcement in the near future? Square continues to deny the existence of a FF VII project, but I find it hard to believe that they would ignore the possibility. If one of the greatest RPG titles of all time was reborn, it could be huge for Sony and Square Enix.

“According to Jeux-France and 2ch, Square Enix will be showing a selection of new titles at the Tokyo Game Show later this week, including Star Ocean 4, Kingdom Hearts, and Endless Crisis: Final Fantasy VII for the PlayStation 3.”

We’ll find out if there is anything to this rumor in the near future. Sony and Square Enix would be foolish to avoid a remake of FF VII. That’s a solid hit for the PS3 before it even hits shelves.

A remake of this game for next-gen console(s) would be a dream. I LOVED this game back in the PS days, it was one of those games that brought me closer to RPGs. The story, the characters, the art, all pulled me in and kept me wanting to play more.

I know many people who would complain about a remake and I don’t understand why. I don’t see the harm in it, however I do see it selling quite well!

    PLEASE, Square, just do this!

oh it’s my absolute favorite story of all time. I would love to see it remade for the next generation. Some people would complain, but I firmly believe it would be one of the top 5 selling games of any year they release it for the PS3. Some people might even buy a PS3 just for it.

A final fantasy VII remake would be big, even bigger than the halo hype right now. Don’t get me wrong, halo is a great game, but everyone know final fantasy VII. It was a great game when it was from the playstation but with the graphics of the advent children movie, this will definitely top the original. come on, even you guys who love their xbox, have to admit that final fantasy was one of the best rpg game that came out. i know you probably played it along time ago and loved it so just admit it, this is(if it is actually going to get a remake) gonna be big.

Why remake a perfectly fine game? all it is, is a chance to ruin what was good.

  5. gizmo says:

If you dislike the remake, play the original. Simple. :)

FFVII was way ahead of it’s time and I don’t see how they can mess it up. As long as they keep the story the same, all will be fine. Some new features would be nice, but i wouldn’t want them to go over the top with it. I’d basically be looking for modern sound and modern graphics combined with the exact same story. How could that be bad?

I wouldnt mind a chance to skip the summons cinematics

  8. Dachel says:

Im playing FFVII since 1997 and still not tired, a remake will be a gift from the heaven LOL. We all know they are going to remake it (that’s for dure) they remake other FF not so significant as FFVII and they won’t desapoint us. Besides is more money (or should I say GIL? LOL) they extract from this wonderful game so they are not going to miss the chance.

JUST BE PACIENT CAUSE IS COMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dachel I must ask you to learn how to spell…patient is spelled the way I just spelled it.

Okay bottom line is that Square-Enix is known for making great games, but never have I seen Square do a favor for their fans. Chrono Trigger is one good example; a remake of Chrono Trigger was something people were begging for, and an unofficial project was actually underway called Chrono Trigger: Resurrection. There is no reason why Square would do anything for you guys at all, petitions and all.

Now based on what I’m seeing, the title, “Final Fantasy VII: PS3 Tech Demo”, tells me that there is a possible chance that Square is really making a remake. From the stuff I have read over the internet, Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core will have some part in the official announcement at completion of the game, and somehow I doubt Square would bust everyone’s balls by saying “we’re not making a remake” even though they made a perfectly good trailer with the quality of PS3 hardware.

What I’m saying is that Square is a professional business that couldn’t care less about their fans requests, and on top of that, to release a “PS3 Tech Demo” trailer like that seems a little unprofessional if you ask me. In my eyes, the odds of a Final Fantasy VII remake is are 60/100. So all of you hopefuls out there, don’t go crazy when you see the next trailer of FF7. Go on a riot when you see and/or hear the official announcement.

P.S. I have just read some new information regarding the petitions winning over the loyalty of Square-Enix. Sorry couldn’t find the link for you guys.

Yeah i really think that a remake of this game will be a great succes. The work it will cost is not as great as usuall. They already got a perfect story, selction of characters, etc etc. Only thing they need to do is upgrade it to Graphics anno 2007,2008. Still though job, but they got the basics to make this game perfect. But see, they have made a movie of FFVII with good graphics.
So i can’t see any reason why won’t making another.

a remake?SWEET!!!! LOVED that game back in the PS days. if they do make a remake, they should defently add some new features, but most of the same story,( but as a side feature go more into the story of some other characters, like vincent.) PLEASE LET THERE BE A REMAKE!!!!

  12. nanaki says:

 FFVII is a cult figure form of a game the most balanced non boring RPG ever, remake is a must if they can extend more of it out of the story lines much better…..

  13. Psyniac says:

I’ll allow a remake on ONE condition. Change the game. No point in making the same thing twice.

What I mean by this is, of course, FFVII in a FFXII style.

Complain all you want, but it would be better if it were different. If you dislike it, as you say, go play the original :P

    Peace out

  14. Rory1985 says:

I think it would be a great idea to remake FFVII for PS3.
The original was just too bloody good! The only game I’ve ever enjoyed playing over and over! And one of the game I’ve enjoyed getting 100% of everything on!

It would be cool if they did remake it and it was dubbed as well as text! =)
AND if they made an online option, where you could travel the world of FFVII as your own created character! =) I know, I’m in over my head here lol

But wouldn’t that be wicked!? lol

  15. Rory1985 says:

I’d love to play as Cid and Tifa in Next-Gen HD! =)

Just wanted to add that lol
