I thought ff7 was badass enough
they could probly make alot of money by just selling it the way it was as a greatest hit although a remake with the same story and nicer graphics would be killer

I just really want there to be a FFVII so badly. I mean theres been rumors for too long now, i just want a simple yes or no. FFVII was the first game i ever played really, and its why i’m a game freak now lol. At least if they say what they are doing then i can either be really happy, or ill have to carry on loving the original like i have done for like 10 years now. All i ask is that if they do, then don’t give the characters silly voices, i like the idea of having voice in video clips like in FFX but i also like to read and keep the traditional idea of FF with it. And please don’t change the story, its brilliant as it is, they made AC as well as a carry on so adding bits into it would be silly, and irrelevant. Also i love the idea of having better graphics, AC had amazingly good graphics, although i don’t expect that of them, it would be nice to have it in the video clips like the voice. But im really thrilled and hoping that they do, do another remake, i own alot of remakes of FF and nothing was wrong with them so *fingers crossed* but im totally up for it!! so i just hope they tell us soon.

the worst of in the history of game making is ff7: dirge of cerberus! i pity vincent, he was the coolest and macho character in ff vii back then, especially when u see his limit break.

if there is any remake/sequel, i beg square enix of the followings:

1)don’t put voice-over especially english voice, i’d rather read subtitles. Watching cloud talking in english language is like watching low budget western film.

2)please keep the battle system as it is. I dont want the character to move around, moving around is only suitable for cratos! I want the excitement of waiting my turn to cast summon, not moving around like an idiot.

3)if u have any new character/places, please think of more interesting and original name to put in, something that sounds like ff vii, not star wars.

4)please and please and please use the original gamemakers of ff vii, if u fans out there havent noticed yet, the gamemakers after ff vii are already different person, no wonder you find it different.

6)stop producing anything in the name of ff vii anymore, it upset me and brings bad reputation to ff vii. the only worth using the name ff vii is ff vii for ps3.

Simple fact; What made FF7 Such a great game, that I STILL PLay TO THIS VERY DAY. is that it was S-E(Square Enix) First Virtual/3D Final fantasy Game, Well truthfuly thats not what made it such a rgeat game, the story and characters are. but if viewed by the creators and square enix so forth they will look at it as a peak in accomplishment. which would explain why they’ver been so hesitant to remake it, I mean it also follows with the exception that the remake could be so horrible, so crappy that they’ll destroy the original and what it stood for, so there is a LOT of pressure fueling the choice to remake and the possibility of it being Reality. and as many have said, keep everything the same just upgrade the graphics, and if anything. if they want to add a multi story line option after you beat the game as good guys. that it be optional to unlock secret content, such as playing as sephiroth or the bad guys in a completely different story-perspective, but that would take ALOT of work and time, plus disk space. so I doubt it. I strongly think a remake of the original FF7 just with better graphics would be THE most anticepated game EVER. and no doubt would it raise the ps-sales to obliterate X-boxes, even though Ps3 has clearly out sold them since pretty much their release, unless that status has changed of course. For thsoe of you who agree with me, respect. for those of you who dont, bite me, its obvious you’re an idiot and never played FF7 if to give the judgement of “Wrong” to the opinions of literally thousands possibly MILLIONS of FF/FF7-Fanatics. and any reply in league to say I am wrong, or so forth in a projection of negative manner. Keep in mind, I will most likely not take the time to read it, why you ask? simple. cause I dont care, Cause God made soft-shell tacos. thats why.

Seriously SE Either Say yes or no, im tired of your toying around BS you give to the public. Also please state when the hell the FF7 Crisis Core will come out in America seriously. Im waiting and heard nothing, get the stepping fools……im sorry i don’t mean to Insult the greatest team ever. Im just full of emotion right now do you forgive me SE

God, that game would be awesome, I might be pissed about the voice acting, (I didn’t like the English Sephiroth from Advent Children). But that aside, I would buy a PS3 in a heartbeat if FF7 came out.

Lets see .. they could make the game even more approachable.. they could record full voice and redo the cinematics to merge with the theatrical work done with Advent Children.. there are some good ways to make this work.

I’d be interested even if they didn’t make too many graphical changes because you could fit all the disks on one Blu-Ray and even add support and other info like a soundtrack or behind the scenes or retrospectives.. a way to make that special memory of the game even more special for fans.

The key with the other remakes is that they didn’t really change the gameplay, even with the major remakes like FF III on the DS. Maintain the gameplay and make the game available to a new or old generation of players and you can cash in.

this game will be a gold mine. they would be crazy not to release it and I would agree with people above that most FF remakes have been done well. I absolutely loved FF VII and I am psyched that we may see it out in the future for the PS3. If they butcher it, I’ll be highly upset, but this is the kind of game that they will probably be very careful not to butcher. When released, a next generation FF 7 could be one of the biggest releases we have seen.

Why ruin a perfectly good game with a remake?
Err because it was released over 10 years ago now,the game is now being sold for nearly as much as it was when it was first released because it’s hard work to get hold of.
The game was amazing but the graphics were really bad even for the ps1,a ps3 re release with a huge graphical update voice overs and some extra content all be worth it

Joelteon7 what makes you think that a remake of VII wouldn’t be as good if not better than the original? Their other remakes have been. You seem to be basing your opinion on how good XII was, not on how good the other remakes are.

The last FF game I played was X-2 and before that, X. To say I THOUGHT (please, if you’re reading this and want to reply, accept it as my opinion…too many times people say I’m ‘wrong’) they were a pile of £()^*_Q_)*£ would be an understatement. 12 perked no interest and the style of play is done much better in other games (Dark Cloud series for one) that buying a new game with nothing new to offer other than a done-before-story isn’t worth it. Sufficed to say then that my caring of 7 being remade has dropped to insignificance. I’ve little doubt in my mind that a remake would be done poorly and the nicheities that made 7 such a great and fun title will either be removed or diluted and make this another graphical JRPG-fest. However, for those who do want it, I hope they get their wish and that the game is done well, hwoever my faith in Square-Enix has dwindlwed recently as to whether or not they can create a fundamentally good game.

@wecklock: I take it you haven’t played any of Square Enix’s recent remakes. There’s nothing wrong with a graphical upgrade to their classic titles. I for one enjoyed playing Final Fantasy I/II on my PSP and Final Fantasy III on my DS. And, I am also looking forward to the remake of Final Fantasy IV
