You don’t have to be a “devout christian” to want to listen to the esrb. I don’t have any children but I don’t let my 8 year old nephew watch me play anything thats rated more that E, which means the only games he can watch or play are nascar and sonic. I think there needs to be a revolt by gamers if we want to stop people blaming games for violent crimes. Games may not make you or I crazy but I’d be willing to bet have 8-10 year olds playing assassin’s creed, etc. are not in our best interest.

I’m a very big supporter of both the ESRB and the MPAA (only in terms of movie ratings). I don’t believe every 16 year old should be able to go see R rated movies or by M rated games. I don’t think parents should use TV and video games to baby sit their kids. I think parents should research or at least ask about games they buy they children if they don’t understand the ESRB ratings. I don’t like having laws for the lowest common denominator, however thats what this country (United States) needs.

nehh, i think that what make ppl feel “M” about this trailer is more the global feeling in it, than the little 2 sec of blood. It’s very dark, speed and active, characters looks more adult than in other FF and the place is more futurist and realistic to me … that’x what drive this trailer a little away from the “fantasy” scheme, and makes it Mature…
though like Sam_tank said, a FF turned to adult players (i-e those who play the FF since begining) would’nt be a bad thing to me

This is like ff7 something of cerbeus
“look we made a shooting game”
Instead it’s
“look we made a mature game”

Of course this will sell and get rated higher than that game but it’s all sales tatics.
Besides if it’s rated M kids will just get there parents to buy it,unless your parents are devout christians they won’t have a problem.

Strange, really Strange, that A Final fantasy With A “M” Rating, I Think that Square-Enix will thake Legal action for Be A “T” Rating, Besides, I’m with Bidaba, the opening to VIII had pretty much the same amount of blood

Have you ever played a FF game before?

They’ve been just fine so far and if you remember the opening to VIII had pretty much the same amount of blood. Nothing wrong with an M rating but this is far from extreme in terms of violence, you can see more in morning cartoons.

Oh thats not blood… there was more blood in some of the parts of FF7 then that little spray of blood… and that little of blood and gore would still let it be a teen game… but i wouldn’t mind to see a Final Fantasy being made for more adult gamers…

Heh, it’s really hard to picture a Final Fantasy game rated M. Anyway, I doubt the game will be that bloody and gory. If anything it’s most likely going to be like Oblivion where there was nothing really shocking to garner it an M rating.
