Square Enix, in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Final Fantasy, has shipped the remastered edition of Final Fantasy II to North American retailers. A PSP exclusive, this special anniversary edition contains all new character art, updated graphics, new dungeons, 16:9 widescreen imaging, enhanced soundtrack, and up-dated camera angles. For those unfamiliar with the FFII storyline, it follows the tale of four orphans who rise up against the ominous and brutal ruler who wreaked havoc upon their world and destroyed their lives. They must avenge the death of their parents while facing the demons set upon them by this evil and merciless killer bent on world domination

Originally released in Japan, since 1987 the Final Fantasy franchise has been one of the most successful RPGS to date. Not only one of the best selling series ever created, it set a standard for future RPGS to come and some of the different installments are considered by many as not only video game classics, but works of art. This hallowed series has generated it’s own subculture with 30 different title releases for the console, online and handhelds – plus with two CG-animated films and 49 soundtracks – Final Fantasy is indeed in a class by itself.
