Well, MK fans, it looks like you’ve got your wish. According to some recent statements by Ed Boon, creator of Mortal Kombat, the series’ signature fatalities will be showing up in the upcoming Mortal Kombat Vs. DC, just not for all of the characters:
All of the MK characters and all of the DC villains will have fatalities. The DC heroes who don’t kill that often will have brutalities that will function just like fatalities but don’t actually kill the opponent.
Smart move. This should appeal to hardcore MK fans, while staying true to the comic book characters. I always thought it’d be ridiculous to have Batman pulling off some super-gory kill move in the game. But him being killed by a guy from another dimension who shoots spikes out of his hands; that totally makes sense.

Brutalities, eh? I couldn’t see Batman beating down someone who was already lost, at least not without special circumstances. Then again, I don’t think you can make a really cool arrest move…
Batman might be drunk during that “Fatality”
