Fallout 3 DLC Already Being Planned

Fallout 3 is still over a month away from release (must…contain…excitement…) but that isn’t stopping Bethesda from already thinking about some DLC for the game. So how could you possibly add extras to a game of Oblivion-sized proportions? By pretty much expanding the game much like they did with Oblivion. Bethesda VP, Pete Hines, explains:
The type is really–we want stuff that’s going to be several hours. Not just like a one-off thing, but something like where you can download it and play it for X number of hours. It’ll be similar to what we did with Knights of the Nine in Oblivion, where it’s like whole new quest lines, new stuff, that kind of thing.
We want to do stuff like that, where it’s adding hours of tangible stuff to the experience. And it plugs into your existing game, so whether you’re starting a new game, or you’re playing for 40 hours, you can go off and play this.
No word yet on when they might release this new content, but one thing’s for sure: we’re going to be hearing about Fallout 3 long after it hits store shelves.

Well as long as there’s no Fallout 3 equivalent to the Horse Armor mod, I can live with that. (would like for the smaller DLC to be free on the PC though)

There is a robot horse in the game. Why not armor for it? Or how about “Original Power Armor” only $9.99.
DLC seems like such a waste. You already over pay for the game, then overpay for stuff that should have come with the game.

Or given to us for free, like the old days. Hell, Criterion is giving us tons of stuff for free for Burnout: Paradise.
Indeed, Criterion I think are leading the way interms of how DLC should work.
They are pretty much giving us a whole nother game in content.
But stuff like this bugs me.
If DLC is already in the works, then why isnt it on the bloody game disc.
Sitting on stuff until post release then charging for it is bollox.
Reminds me abit of special edition dvd’s and games.
They make everything, then sit down and decide what to take away from it and brand it as the standard, then charge twice asmuch for the ’special’ version.
