October 28th; almost two months from now. Mark your calendars, because that’s the day countless lives will be lost to the near endless exploration of the Wasteland to hunt mutants, visit old ruins, and fend off Raiders. That’s when Fallout 3 is coming to store shelves, and probably when hundreds, if not thousands, of gamers will sequester themselves in front of their computers or TVs to play what’s sure to be one excellent game.

“We are very excited to let gamers get their hands on Fallout 3, the latest chapter in this beloved and highly acclaimed franchise,” said Vlatko Andonov, president of Bethesda Softworks. “To meet the huge demand for this title by our fans worldwide, we are planning one of the biggest launches of any game released this year.”

Something tells me he’s not nearly as excited as the numerous fans who have been waiting for a new Fallout game for the last decade. I really need to start clearing my schedule for that day.

Despite not being entirely hyped up about F3 I may rent it from Gamefly for my PS3. One thing F3 does make me like about it is the post-nuke art deco details. It’s more noticeable with their marketing and website though. It’s what drew me into loving Bioshock. So hopefully the artwork in F3 does the same.

Screw playing games just for some fantasy details…I’m just looking to play more of the RPG goodness I loved in Oblivion. I always wondered what it’d be like to play Oblivion with guns, the mods for weapons sucked they were just replacements for bow and arrow models. I really loved Oblivion and I’m so hyped since this game is in the same engine as Oblivion.

….same engine as Oblivion?? I’m fuxored….

  4. Killmur says:

Yea the fact it uses the same engine as Oblivion is kind of worrisome. Hopefully players won’t have to deal with a MEGA patch once the game drops.
