Fallout 3 blows, so don’t even fuss. It’s tedious. You can’t remap the controls sensibly (like legacy, southpaw, etc), or completely.
Combat takes forever, and it’s not that exciting.
The music gets on your nerves pretty quickly.
It doesn’t make a crapload of sense that you can change your outfits and wear masks, but all the characters treat you the same as without outfits/mask.
Dialogue is dense (literally and metaphorically).

To everyone bagging out all of australia – do you think we enjoy getting censored? It’s just a bunch of bible-bashing politicians who couldn’t stand having a Restricted rating for videogames, nevermind that one exists for Films.

In the meantime, just get over it. And be grateful that this is the first incidence. We’ve had to endure a number of video games getting banned or censored. And if you really need to vent your anger, e-mail the Attorney General of South Australia, one of the leading figures who is against a fair rating for video games: attorney-general@agd.sa.gov.au .

One of the versions of Fallout didn’t have children in it. The german version, I think. They censored them out because the ratings board didn’t like the idea of killing children. They made fun of that in Fallout 2.

That said, it’s sad that using drugs and having sex (which is also not in F3) in a game is apparently more offensive than blowing somebody into bloody bits… with a slow-mo camera lingering on it no less.

^^ I’ve had that argument before. Of course we can’t know it will be bad, but how can you know it will be good? But I do know it will win Game of the Year, just because thats how it is.

And I don’t recall if FO1 or FO2 were censored at all. There was still blood, sex, and drug use. The only reason this censor is happening is because the drugs have real world names. “Buffout” and “Mentats” are not real drugs, so no need to censor. All the blood the 14 year olds like is still in the game, so theres no need to panic.

meh, doesn’t seem like a huge deal. the previous games just had drugs with names like “Mentats” and “StimPacks.”

What’s the big deal? Its just some names that were changed, its not like it’ll change how the game plays. I’m sure it’ll be just as easy to mod back in, I mean, if Fallout 3 is as moddable as Oblivion and Morrowind then it’ll be a piece of cake.

I haven’t played Fallout or Fallout 2…but I seem to recall reading that those games were censored too? So what’s the big deal? Its not like they’re taking out the violence, or the language…have any of you guys actually seen recent videos of Fallout 3?

Sooo, basically a pretty much BIG element of the other games is now gone due to Australia thinking drugs in game are not good. GTA4 should be taken off the shelves for mentioning Steroids in the country then.
