Over on the No Mutants Allowed Fallout Forum, Brother None has announced that a modder has finally heeded the crys for better graphics on Fallout 2. A modder known as Mash has submitted a “relatively bugfree,” but not fully tested yet, patch to increase Fallout 2’s resolution.

As the title suggests this program modifies “fallout2.exe” in memory for the purposes of increasing the visual resolution. It also allows for movement of the taskbar and most, if not all menus and panels by way of variables listed in the included “f2_res.ini” file.

This Mod was made for Version 1.02d of the “fallout2.exe”.
It was compiled with “Visual C++ 6.0 -sp6″ and should work on most versions of Windows.

Another modder, Timeslip, has contributed to the patch as well to make it DirectX 9 compatible. Thanks guys. Fallout fans appreciate it.
