EVE Online Expansion Empyrean Age Launches

Empyrean Age, the new expansion to EVE Online, is now live according to the official website:

EVE Online: Empyrean Age has been successfully deployed on Tranquility and we’re now open for business! We invite you to explore the new region “Black Rise” or try the new feature Factional Warfare, to fight for glory and fame in the service of your faction.

The four major Empires of EVE have broken their long-standing peace and are marshalling their forces for war. The outcome hinges on the actions of the galaxy’s immortal pod pilots, allowing players to direct the course of the conflict.

The events of Empyrean Age have been a long time coming, building upon nearly a century of political tension. Access to Jovian technology ushered in the age of the pod pilots and shattered the balance of power, and recent events have sparked a march towards total war.

EVE Online: Empyrean Age adds a new “Factional Warfare” system designed to bridge the gap between communities of players with different levels of intensity in gameplay style. Primarily accomplished with a small-scale PvP combat system, Factional Warfare makes for some quick combat and heated exchanges with other players, and allows you to ease into the depths of EVE Online.
