EuroGamer is reporting that 2KGames has confirmed a delay on the European PS3 version of The Darkness. Originally slated for release on June 29th alongside the XBox 360 version, you can now expect to see the PS3 version on shelves in Europe sometime in July. (Retailers are saying July 20th, but 2K won’t confirm that.) Meanwhile, the XBox 360 version is on track for the original release date of June 29th.
I imagine that this will have the effect of a large number of US PS3 versions of the game making their way overseas. As the game is being developed by Chronicles of Riddick veterans Starbreeze Studios, it’s definitely worth checking out. Of course, it’s also being published by Take-Two, who all the regulatory bodies seem to have in their crosshairs right now. Let’s hope it doesn’t affect The Darkness.
