Electronic Arts Closes EA Link Service in Favor of EA Store

Electronic Arts has closed its EA Link digital content shop and set up a new EA Store put in its place. Gamers will now have to install a new EA Download Manager application to purchase and manage downloads of games.
The EA store is multi-format and handles orders for physical disks for consoles games as well as trailers, demos and special content. According to the Terms of Service, purchases made through the EA Store can be re-downloaded for up to six months, with an extension to two years available for a $6 fee.
This information was originally reported via a thread on game site EvilAvatar.com and hasn’t been confirmed by EA, so it’s unclear how the changes will affect current owners of EA Link games on the PC.

Apparently the download info is stored in the EA servers for only 6 months. (2 years if you pay an extra 6 bucks) Thus, I’d suggest against ordering any full game digitally. (and if you order anything you should burn it to a disc)
Well, it would be nice if they gve you the damn option to burn these things to cd without making it ridiculously difficult for you…though, that would mean no $6, so, I guess that’s out.
And I was hoping EA Link would eventually work like Steam does. So much for hope. And what’s with the 6 months limit? It’s not like EA can’t afford a simple database of accounts and games owned…
So how the hell do i get my game Northing Strike that i paid 10 bucks for huh EA,you know what EA You can take your little lame games and shove it up your greedy asses,because i will never buying an EA game ever again! and crysis no its gonna blow because why EA makes it,they trying make is as good as cod4 man that shit is gonna suck balls YOU CAN NEVER I MEAN EVER be as good as Activision or blizzard so stop trying just give it up EA. Its all ways money money money with these people thats all they want and try to screw the people as best they can,not to mention the games that they make sucks anyways…
I contacted EA and they said that anything you purchased using EA Link is grandfathered in and you can download it as long as you like…

I logged in using my EA link Account on the EA store site but i still don’t know how to retrieve my northern strike,where do i have to go are what i have to do to get my shit back? EA IS FAMOUS FOR ALWAYS MAKING THINGS DIFFICULT FOR THE PEOPLE…
Sean, EA isn’t making it difficult for you, YOU are making it difficult. Just download the EA Downloader, login with your EA Link information, and re-download Northern Strike. Simple as that. For you and I, nothing has changed in that regard. We still use an external EA program to get our games, only the name and appearance of the program have changed. Take a breath, all is well and you won’t lose your game…
I’m having the same problem as Sean, I’ve downloaded the downloader and signed in with my old info but there’s nothing there. My billing info isn’t there anymore and it doesn’t see that I purchased Northern Strike. Does this mean I’m out of 10 bucks? I hope not, any help would be appreciated.
yeah i reformet comp and now icant get northern strike back, i dled ea link but thier is nothing there.
