I feel the same way every time I read about the Global Gaming League or Major League Gaming. Its as though the media simply reposts GGL or MLG's press releases without looking into the concept or the industry at all. MLG is blatently exploiting video game culture and rewarding its "contract professional players" with sums paltry compared what they could be earning by touring on their own or participating in online gaming tournaments. That said - most online cash tournament sites don't support consoles - the only ones that do require you and your partner to submit your results. I see tournaments as a good thing - but mass media coverage of these fabricated marketing pushes a terrible contorting thing.

Meh... I will agree that MS marketed the hell out of this game and that they did a great job in revenue. But I still don't care for the Halo series. Its just like any other FPS but you still have to use that dumb gamepad.

And BBC... wow, I thought at one time they were respectable but jeez. If they think all this time there has never been any multiplayer for anyone for games like this then they should be slapped in the face for writing that un-researched piece of crap.

Check this article, I feel this article is out to lunch. They dont have anything good to say on Halo 3, only Negative and in my oppinion are wrong. I cannot post a reply so i will do it here. I dont even think they are a gamer.

Halo 3 is alot of hype, but defently not the saviour for the Xbox 360. theres way way more great games out and more to come. This article is almost insulting for Xbox 360 owners.

I wonder how much they spent on marketing? It's certainly been one of the most over hyped games ever.
