The bizarre yet highly intriguing puzzle game Echochrome has gotten a release date, according to Siliconera. Well, in Japan. March 19 will bring the game to both the PlayStation Portable (on UMD) and PlayStation Store as a downloadable PS3 game. There’s no price currently announced for the PSN version, but the PSP version will be sold for 3,990 yen ($36), so it seems likely that the downloadable version will be somewhere in that neighborhood.
There’s currently no word if the PSP and PSN versions of the game contain the same content or if the PSN version will be available to play with Remote Play on PSP.
For now, though, I’m just waiting for an American release date. Although one has to wonder – doesn’t $36 seem a bit much?

36 is waaaaaaaaaay too much for that game, I would not pay a dime over 10-15 dollars USD
But perhaps the psp version has some extra things on it…..idk, vids, making of vids, artwork? something to warrant such a cost. I just hope the PSN version is the game and nothing but the game, and it better cost no more than 15 bucks. I mean, don’t get me wrong, this game is clearly an innovative concept, but it basically boils down to 36 bucks for a black and white game.
I seem to remember paying about £25 ($50) for Tetris on the Gameboy. Is how good the game is that’s important.
I gree Norbit, but the point I was trying to make was that this game was announced as a PSN downloadable title, and with the exception of warhawk and Tekken, all PSN games are cheap, and this game does not look like it fits into the realm of warhawk and tekken.
I don’t know if I’d pay thirty-six dollars for any PSP game, save really good RPGs. And then only because I grind and could play for 100+ hours.
