Early Test Footage from Mirror’s Edge; Now With a Gun!

Mirror’s Edge couldn’t have been an easy sell to publishers, with it’s non-traditional approach to first-person action and by having players run away from enemies rather than engage them. This video from DICE shows exactly the sort of test footage they used to get EA interested in the game. It’s quite a bit different from the more recent demos we’ve seen — particularly with the inclusion of a gun and Faith’s “man hands — but it still looks distinctively like Mirror’s Edge. It’s nice to see that the game was shaping up to be pretty unique right from the start. Of course, now I’m going to be wondering the whole time just what the game might have been like if Faith could get her hands on a gun at some point.
