I hate it when morons think they can pick on a group of people because they are either new, renegade (here meaning counter-culture), or old. Gamers fall into the first two categories. While I admit there is a ton of superfluous violence in video gaming these days, it is better to have a constructive outlet, or at least one that doesn’t let me go borderline psychopath every Friday.

Some people blaming violence on games are just morons. I also find it funny that they claim FPS games desensitize people to violence. I’ve seen combat in three countries and was a witness to the worst mass shootings in U.S. history. When I think about my real world experiences, video games have very little to do with me becoming accustomed to violence. If they really wanted to champion an effort to lessen Americans from exposure to violence, how about cleaning up the streets, becoming involved in pro-peace efforts, etc… but you don’t see these people trying to do things like that.

I really believe that art will always imitate life.

What a fortunate turn of events. I wish they could have afforded to be a little ruder… but I see why they weren’t. I wouldn’t want to be in his crosshairs either.

Although I’m sure telling Thompson he was wrong will be enough to bring down his wrath upon EA. I’m 110% sure EA will win that fight, though, should it come down to it.
