EA Names Jeff Gordon Cover Athlete for NASCAR 09

EA has announced that Jeff Gordon has been drafted as the cover athlete for NASCAR 09. Gordon, driver of car number 24 is ranked 6th for all time in Cup Series with 81 wins and is a four time Sprint Cup Series champion.
“It’s exciting being on the cover of NASCAR 09,” says Gordon. “The game is as real as it gets and it’s been great being involved with it on this level. I look forward to helping gamers in NASCAR 09.”
The title has been souped up with a new career mode. Players will work to build their reputation with Gordon as their advisor and mentor. The handling mode has been rebuilt and promises to support novices as well as challenging expert drivers.
NASCAR 09 will be shipping in North America June 10, 2008.
NASCAR is NOT, I repeat, NOT!!!, a sport. Therefore racecar drivers are NOT athletes……
Let those redneck inbreeders actually run, with their legs, around the track for 400-500 laps and then you can call them athletes…..

If you actually think you are in better shape than a NASCAR driver, feel free to meet any of the boys down at the track and challenge them to a few contests of endurance. They drive at speeds of up to 200mph for 2-5 hours and lose 10lbs during a race. Yeah they are all jelly and lard. Dolt.

Second, According to Wikipedia:
“Sports commonly refer to activities where the physical capabilities of the competitor are the sole or primary determiner of the outcome (winning or losing.”
Please explain to me how the physical cababilities of the driver have anything to do with the outcome of the race when it’s the racecar that does all of the work?
Before you make stupid comments I would highly recommend doing some reasearch, growing a brain, and then bringing something intelligent into the conversation rather than resorting to petty insults.

A racecar does all the work? They turn, accelerate brake and pit all by themselves? Wow, never knew that. Physical capabilities do make the difference as reaction time and endurance are very important. From slightly more reputable sources than Wikipedia (Princeton):

- the occupation of athletes who compete for pay
