EA Drops Charging for Weapons From Battlefield: Bad Company…Sort Of

Well, congratulations to every squeaky wheel out there who made a big fuss over the revelation that EA would be charging extra to unlock certain weapons in the upcoming Battlefield: Bad Company. EA has now announced that all ten formerly-locked weapons will be available to anyone who purchases any version of the game, with a slight catch. The people who purchase the Gold Edition of the game will have access to five extra weapons right off the bat, while those who purchase the regular version will be able to get them by reaching the final rank in the game. So basically, you can still pay extra for those five weapons if you want to of just work extra hard to unlock them yourself. The other five weapons that were reported as being DLC will be given away for free during a number of marketing promotions following the game’s release. And yes, this is happening because of all the noise people made, according to DICE senior producer, Karl-Magnus Troedsson:
It’s really important for us to get across that we do listen to what people say out there. We don’t have time to run around and comment on everything but we do listen to what people say out in the community. It’s really important feedback and that’s why we make changes like this.
Go ahead, people: cheer, applaud, have your moment and whatnot. Just try not to think about the fact that somewhere, an EA exec is thinking of a way to get that lost profit back one way or another.

I gave them the idea for that. Check my name, sinners, and REPENT!!!!!
By the way, my children, this is no “troll” as you silly folk call it. I’m really God. Here’s the proof: When you read this, someone you love will die. You’re welcome.
Also, so you know, the bible wasn’t written by me. I only found out about it after the fact. I mean, WTF? These dudes write about me without asking? I would have sued their asses for libel and slander (they talked about it too) but I knew lawyers wouldn’t be around for another few thousand years so I bided my time..and then unleashed thousands of them. Seriously, check the yellow pages. LAWYERS everywhere. That’s because of the bible. Lata!

P.S. Atkins doesn’t work. I made South Beach Diet better on purpose to see who’d notice.
I have all the time in the world, smarty pants. Don’t think in that tone of voice at ME. Heathen.
Too bad about Monk’s therapist, huh? I know, it sucks. I had to take him, though. He was a pedophile.
Before these are deleted, at least archive them for posterity. I thought long and hard about how to be clever and entertaining.
Dad..!!!!
I’ve told you about playing on the computer…
Until you know what you doing leave it alone!!

Haha… Comments about the above comments aside, I’m glad EA has decided not to be a bunch of jerks. I mean, they already make money selling in-game ads and craptastic expansions. Rented Rainbow Six Vegas 2, only to find out that it sucks. I am the unfortunate owner of a copy of Battlefield 2142. With any hope, Battlefield Heroes won’t suck, but I’m full up on shooters so it won’t bother me any if it does.
Well Mylon, might I recommend listening to this week’s File-N-Forget Podcast. Ron, Daniel and I discuss our impressions of BF:Bad Company.
Listened to a little over half and got enough info. It’s not great. But I found CoD4 to be great, so I’ll keep playing that.

You can’t blame me for any of it. I’m just here in Hell minding my own business.
I’m glad to hear they got rid of those extra fees.
