I hate to tell you this, but games sell systems….if you believe that people are ‘lying’ because they will buy a system for one game then that’s your choice, it’s incredibly arrogant on your part but it’s your choice…..i purchased a Wii simply to play Zelda and haven’t touched it since.

FF Versus is exclusive as of 2006…things change, not to mention that there hasn’t been any real confirmation that FF Versus is even coming stateside…so FF versus is a moot point at this stage.

FFXIII -was- exclusive…and it -will- affect sales..it’s affecting sales as i type this, is it going to be a disaster for Sony?…probably not….will they see an obvious slump? you better believe it.

Frankly this argument is old, the numbers are out there and they don’t lie…Square-Enix has come to the conclusion that it’s going to be more profitable to bring FFXIII to the 360…justify your fanboy status all you wish Norbit, it makes little difference to anybody with eyes and half a brain that the PS3 has been the worst selling console Sony has produced.

Well looks like I will be buying the 360 version of Final Fantasy XIII now. Achievments and better online play through Xbox Live FTW.

Still playing Uncharted though and it is a great game. The PS3 needs more great exclusive games.

And Norbit what the hell is Final Fantasy XIII Versus? I have not heard anything about it at all.

The All-Star Game is on tonight baby……Go Marlins!!!!

If you don’t like FF series, then why even read stories about new ones and come here to flame about how much they “suck”. Fuck off and die. Especially VII. That was the best. game. EVER. Period.

If your friend is a huge fan of Final Fantasy she will surely still be getting a PS3 because of FFXIII Versus which is still exclusive. If she was going to buy a console for ONE game why would she decide to miss out on half of it?

This will not affect console sales at all. Anyone who was going to upgrade to a new console for FF will still be getting a PS3 because that’s still the only console that has the whole of FFXIII. Nobody is going to buy a 360 for FFXIII and everybody who was going to buy a PS3 for it will still do so.

It makes me laugh how many people are lying online that they were going to buy a PS3 but now FFXIII is on the 360 they arent going to If they were that much of a fan they would still be getting one because there is every chance that FXIII Versus will be a better game than FFXIII.

All this move means is that Square Enix will sell more units of the title in the west than they would have and its good PR for Microsoft but nothing more.

@ Handisnacks; I don’t think you went far enough – I declare Final Fantasy is pure ass, 8-bit is where it was best and even then it was pretty terrible.

ohh great, now we have to wait an eternity before the game releases … good move from square to move to the 360, a little late though. bad move to postpone the us/eu ps3 version, my guess is that MS paid for this.
But maybe it will “only” take a year to get the title to the 360 – i doubt it though.

An amazing catch for the 360 obviously but how it’ll get ported in time for a release window is anyones guess. I think sony could still get a nice run if they demand english subs in the japanese release and ’secretly’ make it region free but it is a powerful message from microsoft in this early stage of E3, is it too early though

This is a large right hook to U.S. and European sales of the PS3, i’m wondering in Sony will address some concerns about this move.

A friend of mine who has been a long time fan of the Final Fantasy series has been holding off on buying a PS3 until FFXIII came out…now she has no desire to even pick one up..i’m sure she’s not going to be alone on that one.
