E3 2007: Lair – E3 Trailer

LAIR is one of those games that makes you really really want a dragon, but since they do not exist (contrary to what my weird neighbor thinks), this game will have to suffice. Personally, I am horrible at games that involve loads of aerial combat, so I will have to live vicariously through other gamers – and this one looks like it is going to be lots of fire-breathing fun.

LAIR is an arcade-style rpg developed by Factor 5 and published by Sony Online Entertainment for the PS3, will be released in August. The player assumes the role of knight named Rohnm whose mount is a dragon instead of the typical horse. Rohn’s is to defend his post at all costs by defeating enemies, creatures, and destroying certain objects. The majority of the battles will be air-combat, but as you can see from the trailer – some will be fought on the ground as well. In parts of the game, a morale system causes the enemy to either fight more or fight less – so you can expect either wimpy or ferocious confrontations. Relying on the PS3’s SIXAXIS motion controls, the player will fly their dragon by tilting the controller – so start practicing your coordination skills now.
