During Nintendo’s press conference earlier this morning, they revealed Mario Kart is making it’s way to the Nintendo Wii in Q1 2008. The title will have online multiplayer, a huge roster of characters, and will also be packaged with a brand new peripheral called the “Wii Wheel”, which basically embeds the Wii Remote into a wheel peripheral. Nintendo also stated this version of Mario Kart will “level the track for beginners”.

I’ve always been a huge fan of Mario Kart and I can’t help but get excited at the possibility of this new title, especially with the promise of online multiplayer.  And although I’m sure most of you are probably thinking you won’t need to use the Wii Wheel, I can guarantee that once we all get our hands on it and play one round of Mario Kart with it, we’ll wonder how we ever played previous Mario Kart titles without one.
