NDA is lifted – I played a quite a bit all the way up to the end boss of the new raid (beat all the other new content in one night)

For the elite gamer – this game is a waste of time with each progressing update (to include the business model change) the target the elite game society and are continuously dumbing down the game.

Decent concept but with poor customer service – highly moderated forums so communication is limited within the community – and lack of content make DDO:U a thumbs down in my opinion.

If i reinstate my old account, but want it to be f2p, will i have to buy warforge and drow in order to play my old characters? Will i have to buy the other char slots that are filled? I’ve been looking all over the forums for this, and finally google, this is the closest i’ve gotten ><

This only applies to free play not VIP subscribers. The monk and warforged are gratis for them along with lots of other good stuff I’ll be detailing in my article later today.

I just started playing after getting an email about the game. I have a quad core athalon with running with 64 bit vista and just a 32 bit video card and 8 gb of memory. I at first couldn’t get it to run and now it just started to. I think it was after I install service pack 2. The game is awesome. Extremly detailed and smooth with my setup. I do not seem to get motion sickness unlike other mmorpghs. Finally I have been spending hours using player made character generators to see what my character will look like at level 16. The char gen is just that interesting and good. I think I will spend alot of time at this game even though my primary focus is text muds. The documentation and forums in this game are excellent.

this is gonna be the peak of all mmo’s i played this game in 07′ and it rocked i got my account that i recovered and my god character metakadeez who is a warforged level lik 14 or 15 toon and hes a wizard so yeah look me up guys and we can duel sometime or raid together later this summer i also have drow unlocked man i cant wait to get my game on once more all hail dungeons and dragons =)

It’s been stated that turbine never deletes old accounts. So if you remember your old log on and password you should have no problem converting to the F2P version when it goes live (still in beta testing right now).

DDO was only buggy if compared to smaller (less complicated) games. I’ve played a few MMO’s in the early days and all had there little glitches. Other than small lag issues on very heavy server days in very high end (and monster populated) quests the lag is almost gone. Game play is very smooth,glitches that leave quests unfinished are rare, getting stuck is ultra rare, most complaints are from lost items in the mail system ( i think folks loos track of where they sent what).

DDO advertises 20 levels. Unlike other games though each of those levels has four Distinct ranks, so it is equavalient to an 80 level game. race and class choice is very good. Weapons and raid loot are varied. Most quess have scalable difficulty so they can be played solo or in group. The most fun is had in group play, most quest up to 6 members raids up to 12.

intresting used to play ddo and ill probaly pop back in have a look around on the new content was one of the better mmo:s ive played.
it was one of the many mmorpg that was realsed to early with huge bugs and never recoverd completly, maybe the f2p model can finaly fix that.

im very curious how a broader user base is going to like DDO, and even more curious how im going to like this new updated version.

wonder if i can use my old account as my f2p?
