Duke Nukem Resurfacing on Xbox Live?

DukeNukemIt is almost inevitable for the legendary Duke (how does he age so well?) to end up on the 360 in some form or fashion. 3D Realms’ George Broussard recently confirmed giving the green light for Duke to reign once again via XBL.

“Truth be told, we’ve talked to Microsoft about it and have some people that would port it. Just waiting on the good word from Microsoft to continue.”

Nice, George. Just don’t waste too many resources making this happen. That effort would obviously be better spent, you know, getting a sequel done.

I believe in Unicorns too. Really, I do.

    Huh Huh… What a mess…

Notice the key words “port it”, evidently no new resources will be spent making it any better than it once was.

I saw an old PIII in the paper for $50 complete and I know the software outlets are practically paying people to closeout these old, outdated, bottom-of-the-bargain-bin titles. You could even play DOOM, at least its a game with a legacy.

EyeK When they take games and put them on XBL as a port, I’m not really impressed at all. I think all old games should be introduced as a new version with advanced graphics and sound. When they don’t do that, they are taking the lazy route and just trying to get us one more time for a game we’ve probably all played a thousand times before.

“Hail to the king baby”. In this case the king is cash. Game producers are worse than used car salesman.
