dukenukemforever1 1 Duke Nukem Forever Coming in Late 2008 According to 3D RealmsNormally when I hear some news regarding a release date for Duke Nukem Forever, it usually turns out to be some rumor started by some random person on the internet. This time however, it seems 3D Realms themselves have tossed out a possible release date of Q4 2008 for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. Scott Miller, president of 3D Realms, noted however that “we may miss the mark by a month or two, but I feel very confident that we’re on target this time.” Now just replace the word “may” with “will” and the word “month” with “year,” and you should have a pretty good idea of when the game might actually see the light of day, given the company’s track record for this sort of thing. Miller also confirmed — and this is actually more exciting to me — that the classic Duke Nukem 3D would be coming to Xbox Live Arcade complete with multiplayer support, achievements, and a co-op mode. So now all we have to do is wait another few years months to see if one of the most delayed games in history lives up to the hype.

UPDATE: Part of me knew this was going to happen, but now 3D Realms is denying that they confirmed a release date to the Dallas Business Journal. So let’s all go back to guessing that even our grandkids won’t see this game in their lifetime. (via ShackNews)

I love this – it´s one of the most ingenius viral marketing strategies i ever encountered. Keep people visiting the 3drealms page in the hope to find some real information on DNF, and while they search let them find the information on other titles. Even the layout is optimized to be misleading – i must say, that they did a great job on this.
And this is meant seriously !!

Nooo! We need to keep the ongoing joke of how ridiculously long this game took to make!
