Dragon’s Lair for Nintendo DS

Remember that cabinet laserdisc game from 1983 that was ludicrously hard yet gloriously animated, so much so that you kept pumping in quarters despite lackluster gameplay? Well it’s not going to look quite as good on the tiny Nintendo DS screen as it did on the large cabinet screen, but the gameplay will be tweaked to take advantage of unique DS features. The game promises to “have a plethora of unique features while still maintaining the original game play, quality and style of the arcade release.”

The game will be playable in either Dual Screen (book-style) or Single Screen (top-down) mode with voice recognition, rumble pak support and a few other features you can check out for yourself. You’ll also have the opportunity to choose between unlimited lives, the standard 5 lives or “sudden death single life mode.” If it’s as difficult as the original, you’ll need every single life you can get, so I suggest “unlimited” mode.
