Don’t Expect DuckTales, TaleSpin, or Darkwing Duck on VC Anytime Soon

DuckTales, TaleSpin, and Darkwing Duck were some great Disney cartoons from the 90’s, and they spawned some great games to go along with them (which sadly isn’t so common these days). So these seem like some good candidates to add to the Virtual Console’s NES lineup, right? Maybe, but don’t expect to relive these classics on the Wii anytime soon. According to Christian Svensson, Corporate Officer/VP of Strategic Planning & Business Development with Capcom, who developed these games, any re-release is being held back by licensing problems:
“Licensing issues abound. I think you’d be hard pressed to see them show up, but you never know.”
I’d actually expect that to be quite the legal hassle, considering Disney controls the rights to the franchise, which is too bad. There There really aren’t enough games out there featuring pogo stick combat.

Son of a Bitch…..
Duck Tales was one of the games I didn’t own for the NES that I rented all the time that I was really looking forward to playing again on the Wii VC…..Eff you Disney!!!!
Go Marlins!!!!
Yeah you’re right! I liked Ducktales (2) and chip n dales 2 much! those games ruled but aparently some people are 2 stubborn 2 give the croud what they want…
Ducktales 1&2 and Chip&Dale 1&2 and Darkwingduck and The Little Mermaid were good games back in the day. Hope to see them on virtual console before im dead. hahahahahaha
