Don’t Hold Your Breath for a Warhawk Demo

The premiere downloadable title for PlayStation 3, Warhawk, would probably be getting all the help it can from Sony to do well. Naturally, one way to grab gamers’ attention is to release a demo so that they can try the game out for themselves – but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen with Warhawk.
An SCEA rep told GameDaily Biz, “Warhawk was designed to support up to 32-players online simultaneously. In a demo version of a multiplayer only game, there is little control over how many players will be on a dedicated server at a time, potentially leading to smaller online battles that do not fully do justice to the title’s fast combat and frantic play. Additionally, Warhawk development underwent an extensive beta trial that included nearly 10,000 participants, which offered a wide audience ample opportunity to experience the game and provide valuable feedback to during Warhawk’s development.”
So in other words, there’s no guarantee that you’ll get a good game of Warhawk going in a demo, which might cast the game in a light it wants to avoid
