Does the Xbox 360 Arcade System Only Come with Arcade Trials?

There’s really no doubt that the Xbox 360 Arcade exists. We’ve seen pictures. Reports have it that some retailers are already beginning to sell them despite Microsoft not having officially announced it. So, thanks to Microsoft’s decision to continue to say nothing, we get to rely on tips to piece things together. Yay!

One tip in particular, sent to Engadget, is from an invividual who has already purchased and unboxed the system. The most interesting detail in all of this, though, is that apparently the disc the system ships with does not include the full versions of the five Arcade games we suspected to be included. Instead, they’re simply trials – you know, the things you can easily download from the Xbox Live Marketplace for free.

This blows my mind – why ship with something that you can easily get through the online system? If your argument is that people might not have access to Xbox Live, then why even name the system after a feature that people won’t even be able to access? Hopefully this doesn’t turn out to be true, but we won’t know for sure until Microsoft decides to announce their product… which is apparently already available, provided you look in the right place.

Thats totaly stupid. What is the point of shipping a demo disk. That is a waste of a DVD. Moneysoft atleast give the person a full versions of the games. If these are only dumb demos, it only entices the person to get a HDD and buy some real versions of the games, therfore, they should have gotten an Xbox 360 with a HDD in the first place and just downloaded what the disks already had.

This is totaly usless, Id fire that disk in the garbage if it was me. Screw you moneysoft. dont call it Xbox live Aracde, its Xbox live demo-cade. USELESS!!

    Wow…Xbox Live demo-cade…clever…

  3. Steve says:

The disc contains the full live arcade games and some demos too, i’m getting one for my son, keeping the wireless controller for myself and giving him one of my old wired ones that way he can set it up in his room and let me play Forza 2 in peace.

  4. John says:

Have you considered the possibility that your xbox was not connected to the Internet. If you are not connected to xbox live, all purchased games (purchased downloaded games) revert to the demo form. As soon as you connect to xbox live the games should be fully playable.

Let me clarify. 5 free FULL games are included and 5 free demos are included. Also, HDMI is included. Supposedly, from what I’ve read, most people have no idea what xbox live Arcade is. So, this would be M$ attempt at marketing it to people who would otherwise know nothing of the service. Let’s face it, you and I may know what XBL arcade is, but the average joe knows what? Jack shit. So I think it’s a great move on M$, weither it will move systems… that will be determined.

Ok, this is it. I am fed up and sick and tire of MS’ BS. First is the Halo special edition xbox without Halo 3 bundled and now bundling trial ware plus the skimpy and problematic hardware. I am getting a PS3 this holiday and wait for the games! I am sick of MS’ sh*ts!
