Discovery Channel Unveils Awesome Live Action Halo Short

There is one seriously awesome video over at the Discovery Channel website right now that’s essentially a live action short of a Halo battle. Apparently, this is some sort of promotion for a Halo-themed Xbox Giveaway Contest following an episode of “Last One Standing,” which unfortunately has nothing to do with Halo really. Someone obviously sunk a lot of time and money into this thing, and the result is an almost movie-quality film. The Brutes may look kind of like overweight Wookies, but the action still looks intense. This has somewhat renewed my faith that a Halo movie could actually be pretty good. Be sure to check out the live action short here.

that was cool. more games need good tv spots.
That CG was almost perfect. Fit in seamlessly. The action was pretty cool, but, damn, that hammer wasn’t friendly.
I think this is the second part of a teaser for Halo movie. First part was called combat.
That warthog looks like the one the guys down at Weta made, so they could have made this. That would explain why it looks so good.
I was thoroughly entertained. It didn’t have that Holywood overdone feel to it. Seemed more realistic to me.
that was awesome
Nice, I liked the part where the sniper got smashed against the wall.
~Death Dream~
I really enjoyed this, but it seemed a bit rushed. Some of the fire looked a little out of place. Otherwise, I loved it! Hope they do more or at least continue with the movie.
Stalker, i am not positive, but I think it is the one they made.
btw that discovery show looks pretty cool too. anyone else planning on watching?
Upon some searching this is part of a campaign of shorts by they guys at Weta, Peter Jackson, and Neill Blomkamp.
All paid for by the guys at Microsoft
