Playstation 3 owners can now revel in the same off-road carnage that PC and Xbox 360 owners have been indulging in since June. Hitting stores yesterday, DiRT features a range of off-road racing experiences on gravel, mud and dirt. Players choose between 45 vehicles, including 2WD, 4WD, Classic and RWD cars and put them through challenging and treacherous stages, tracks and circuits all over the world.
To commemorate the PS3 release, the DiRT website is featuring an exclusive video detailing system footage with multiple car events. In addition, Codemasters is also still taking submissions in the “Dirty Pics” section where you can show-off your muddy trucks, cars, dogs, grandmothers or anything else deemed grimy.

The Dirty Pictures section is a gallery that showcases all manner of real-life filthy fun, from the muddiest cars to the grubbiest people.

Personally I don’t mind getting a game 2 months later if it’s better for it. The PS3 version looks better and plays way better than the 360 version.
Have you played it? if not how do you know?. id say its a Xbox 360 port. so its not much different if any. Dirt is an awesome game for the 360. from the pictures it looks the same. If your super fussy here is some comparsions for you to see.

Again 360 is ontop. check it out.
Xboxlenny live in denial all you want. Codemasters themselves said its far better on the PS3. They said the frame rate is better, the sound is uncompressed 7.1 surround which they said they couldn’t do on the 360 and in their own words they said it “looks fantastic compared to the 360 version”.
Why don’t you check out this review by IGN where they comment that on the PS3 version “much of the slowdown found in the 360 game is gone, thankfully”.

It sounds to me like Codemasters are living up to their name and have actually bothered to make use of the extra power the PS3 has.
It is an awesome game on the 360. I’m not disputing that. The FACT is it’s better on the PS3.
I sure am not in denial, A picture is worth 1000 words they say. i didnt make the photos i call it like i see it. im sure that 7.1 makes a world of diference on gameplay vs 5.1
I realy enjoyed Dirt on the 360 last month, its a great game for both systems. I also enjoyed the graphics and the rumble of the controler, it makes the game feel more real . Too bad for the Sony Delaystation. Halo 3 is here soon, and so many more games. i dont wait for ports. Dirt is a great game, i recommend it to anyone on either system.
First up I would like to say RIP to Colin McRae who died in a helicopter crash yesterday:

xboxlenny said “Halo 3 is here soon, and so many more games.”
Games to look forward to on the PS3 include Final Fantasy and Gran Turismo which are both bigger games than Halo and they are exclusively on the PS3. Then there is also Metal Gear Solid which I understand is also pretty popular.
The of course there are also Haze, Tekken 6, Jak and Daxter, Ratchett & Clank, The Getaway 3, Monster Hunter 3, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet and Time Crisis 4.
They are all PROPER exclusives. You can only play them on the PS3 unlike the so called exclusives on the 360 which are also released on the PC.
You might be interested to know that in the list of the top 30 biggest selling console game franchises the PS3 has exclusives on 4 of them. The 360 has none. Its highest console exclusive is Halo which creeps in at #40 and that’s only because of the extra PC format sales. All 4 of the new games from those PS3 exclusive mega selling franchises are being released next year.
To put it bluntly in 2008 the PS3 is going to shit on the 360 from a great height.
@ norbit: You love to argue and proclaim the almighty PS3. No one cares for your lists of top games. Nor cares for how great you think the PS3 is. WOW u are fanboy #1. it will never end. Its no sence to even debate you. I dont care how good the PS3 does or what games are out or exclusives. I DONT OWN A PS3. you dont need to be such a fanboy.
Halo 3 is here soon and it will sell mad, Probaly top out your entire PS3 super game list. dont get so worked up, its only a game review forum. I enjoy the Xbox 360 and all the great games it has, PS3 has great games also, if or when the PS3 “Shits” all over the Xbox 360, well ill get a PS3. But im sure not a fanboy of either systems. Dont be so blind. Xbox 360 and PS3 has their great features, its call competition. works great for customers. not just fanboys.
Norbit: I had just put a new post up about Colin when I read this debate between you and Lenny. Here is the link: http://news.filefront.com/colin-mcrae-star-of-video-game-franchise-dies-in-helicopter-crash/
“Halo 3 is here soon and it will sell mad, Probably top out your entire PS3 super game list”
Well lets take Gran Turismo as an example.
4 games which have sold a total of 47m units on the Playstation consoles for a sales average of 11.75m units per episode.
Halo on the other hand has shifted 14.7m units in 2 games on the Xbox consoles and PC for a sales average of 7.35m per episode.
To beat Gran Turismos sales average Halo 3 would have to shift more copies than there are 360’s in existence and for Halo to become a bigger franchise than Gran Turismo Halo 3 would have to sell 35.3m copies.
FYI the Tekken and Metal Gear franchises have both sold 20m units with sales of 75m for Final Fantasy.
