Ofcorse one of the BACKBONE’s of PC gameing would say he SEE’s it as the future… he would be retarded to say i make DX10.. BUT …. I dont think PC gaming will last a nother 10 years……

I hope PC gaming stays around. It really hurt my feelings when CliffyB denounced PC gaming and championed his NEW friend, the console. Wasn’t it the success of the PC that brought him here in the first place? Have some LOYALTY! Anyway, let’s hope there’s some mid-ground to this articles argument, as I refuse to buy a console.

His assessment is not wrong. It’s your interpretation of his assessment that is. Alex St. John is not saying that everyone is ready to abandon consoles today. What he is saying is that the current console business model is broken and has no future because Microsoft and Sony have sunk more money into their consoles than they can make off of them. And, he is probably right in the longterm, but he is WAY ahead of the curve on this. It will take at least five years before the current generation of consoles are totally dead as development platforms at least in Sony’s case. Just look at the Playstation 2 which is still alive and kicking in the consumer market.

PC’s own consoles. It’s the difference of thirty (or more) binary buttons and one full mouse to the 16 button two analog stick controllers? And let’s not forget that the keys can be used for throttle amounts and as speed differentiators there’s so many of them, and you’ve got a suite of controls multiple times superior.

ya man they need to more cross platforming from ps3 to pc games like the pc gaming machines now a days can handle FF13 with the 9800gx2 1gb version in sli mode

I hope he’s right. PC’s are not getting the good quality games they’ve had in the past, everything is being “dumbed down” for the console kiddy’s (with a few exceptions)
