Diablo the Movie

There are some video games that should just stay video games. With Diablo, it’s a tough call.
Today, Kotaku.com is talking about Diablo the movie, and it looks like the film is in pre-production stages.
Now, pre-production doesn’t mean a whole lot in terms of the industry. Another way of saying that is, it could go away overnight. But I think the material Diablo has to work with may end up something worth at least the nine dollars you pay to get in the movie theater.
But just going on statistics of bad video-game movies, I’d say this is just a bad idea.
Diablo would be great, but you would need a great fantasy director with experience in special effects.. perhaps someone like Peter Jackson.
