Diablo 3 Announcement at Blizzcon?

Let the speculation begin. Although, some people have more educated guesses than others.
For instance, Medieval Dragon over at Starcrafttwo.com has a news post about the rumor of Diablo 3 being announced at Blizzcon, and he has some substantiated bits of information behind his estimation.
Like the mention from the interview with Richard A. Knack, the writer behind the Diablo storylines, which states, “When a fan asked him a short and straight simple question: Diablo 3?, all he replied was †I am not writing for a dead world … but a world with dead. ’nuff said!â€
As I wrote before, this is, indeed, speculation, but all of you fans might be able to glean other pieces of information that might give you a little more confidence in the idea that you’ll be hearing good news from Blizzard in the not-too-distant future.
But isn’t the date already known?
I remember Blizzard mentioning that Diablo III would come out late 2008, early 2009?
if you log on wow news site you see a contest to win a merloc suit. you look closer at this it says in the contest blizzerd well be handing out batta keys to a new blizzerd game unanacd thy all readdt saide sc2 on the way thees keys being giving out must be d3

yes i have been playing games for long but i do say one thing Diablo is no doubt the best ever game i’ve had played…really
and now Diablo III…cant hold myself to grab it first as soon as it arrives

ahhhhhhhhhh wut the world will be like with D3 even though the people the made D1 and D2 arent with blizzard itll be great to play but i hope its great and i did hear that there is NOT gonna be a D3 and if there is its gonna be a remake of D2 just new charecters better graphics but dont get your hopes up

Warcraft is average for me (wow too), Starcraft is very good, and i hope that SC 2 will be at least same quality. But Diablo is best game i’ve evere played. A lot of hours spent on Diablo and Diablo 2 can’t be counted.
Each game from blizzard is very good and I think the D3 will be same.
So when is D3 due out?
