Personally, when I hear the question, “Why vikings?” my automatic response is, “Well, why not?” Still, with this new developer diary form the makers of Viking: Battle for Asgard, the people behind the game answer that very question, while also explaining the core design of the gameplay. Essentially, they chose vikings as the main culture for their game because they have an often unexplored mythology behind them. Plus, from a design perspective, it allowed them to craft the intricate styls of viking weapons and armor. If you want to see the developer diary though, you’ll have to go through and age gate (probably due to some gore-filled gameplay footage). You can check out the video here.

  1. Steve says:

 Whomever developed this game needs to be hung drawn and quartered. Once you get to the area where you have to get to the portal to recharge the dragon amulet, there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY of doing this without dying a horrible gorey death. if you trigger ONE undead you have the entire legion soon to follow. The shit side of this? you cannot NOT be noticed going through this encampment.

    It. Is. Not. Possible.
