Activision has unveiled the first trailer for the upcoming Call of Duty: World At War. As you’re probably aware of by now, this is the game being developed by Treyarch that takes the series back to World War II. The video mostly shows some of the action that’ll take place in Iwo Jima as the Americans and the Japanese battle it out. One interesting thing about the trailer though is that it also has two narrators speaking English and Japanese, lending a bit of credence to the rumors that you’ll be able to play on the Japanese side for part of the game. That might put a unique spin on the genre, but I’m still approaching this title with hesitation.

for fuck sakes, they just had to go back to ww2 didnt they, Vietnam ftw?
Finally, a game that allows me to take on the world’s biggest evil: The Greatest Generation.
Wait…
Well I don’t know why WWII is so bad. But the game still looks like every other game out there, regardless of when and where its taking place. And the CoD series still seems to strive for zero realism.
I wanna CoD game based on the Korean War!
Please have the next CoD set in Vietnam. Shoot up some Viet Cong.
