Dear Nintendo, We Want Commercials Of Old Back

Super Smash Brothers Brawl is just around the corner and I’m patiently waiting for some creative Nintendo commercials like the ones we got back in the old days. The good old days of the N64 are gone and so are the wacky commercials that came with it. Spots like the one above really peaked my interest in games and I’m not sure why companies aren’t sticking with the funny approach that obviously worked in the old days.

cool commerical – still they might not want that kind of video anymore, because they are afraid that these videos scare away the older gamers

How is this Super Smash Bros on N64 commercial considered “old”. To me the old commercials were from NES and Super NES days.
check out the bomberman 64 commerical. that was by far the best n64 commerical
I like how you assume that it “worked” simply because you enjoyed the commercial. Ad agencies track how certain ads perform very carefully and make adjustments as trends change. If you aren’t seeing a certain style of ad anymore, it is because it no longer moves product.
I know personally this commercial didn’t sell me on Smash Brothers on the N64, I wanted to see more gameplay to understand what the hell this game was all about.

I’ve always liked the one for super mario bros 3 where a bunch of people are chatting mario! and wereing different color clothing so when the camera pans out we see a face of mario on the globe
What you guys don’t like the two creepy asian guys knocking on people’s doors saying “we would like to play!”
Its not like nintendo needs commercials anyway…all of their games have been gamecube ports.
