Dave Karraker is on his way out of Sony, leaving his position as head of North American PR. So, naturally, that position needs to be filled, as Karraker’s job was an essential one. In less than two weeks after Karraker’s announcement, Scott Steinberg (pictured on the right) has taken his place in a newly created position – North American Product Marketing Vice President. That’s quite a lot to fit on a business card.
Steinberg, previously the VP of marketing at Sega, will be starting October 1, and will take over the reins of marketing PlayStation hardware and software.
Peter Dille, senior VP of marketing and the PlayStation Network, said, “We are thrilled to have Scott join our team as he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the PlayStation marketing staff and the management group here at SCEA. Scott has an ideal blend of experience in digital entertainment and content delivery as well as a proven track record for strategic innovation and implementation within this industry. He will be a critical component for the success of our marketing efforts across the PlayStation brand moving forward.”
