Darth Vader Playable in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

By now, you’ve probably heard about the amazing-looking Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. It’s cool enough that you get to play as Darth Vader’s secret apprentice, but it looks like you’ll actually get to play as ol’ tall, dark, and scary himself also. Apparently, the opening level of the game will have you hunting Jedi on the Wookie planet of Kashyyyk. You’ll be able to use all of Vader’s powers to fight off all the Chewie cosplayers that come charging at you to devastating effect. This new information combined with the incredible technology we’ve seen so far make it a little hard not to get excited about this game.

a game like this I think is destined for consoles.. that’s where the market is going to be for this kind of title. I’m sure they may shoot it over to the PC people eventually.. who knows…but right now console gamers are far more important to these companies.

Franky: actually it’ll be available for all consoles. The 360 and PS3 versions will have the sweet, exclusive LucasArts graphics effects (check out IGN or LucasArts.com for clips, they’re pretty impressive), whereas a different developer is handling the Wii version (obviously not as graphic-intense, though you finally get to use the Wiimote as a lightsaber). All iterations seem pretty exciting…

Whoopee. This plot had better make sense within the grand scheme of things, though…never saw Vader use the force to keep Solo from escaping in the ‘Falcon, but I see this apprentice pulling a start destroyer into the ground…hmmmmm…
Did you forget that he wanted them to leave? There was a tracking device which lead the Empire to the Rebel’s base.
In the rise of Vader book you read how he hunts a few rouge jedi after order 66 on the wookie home world and slaughters many wookie. its a great read and will be awesome to play!!!
You fuckin lil dweebs don’t deserve to play this game. It is only for master saber men, the only saber you all wield is a small wrinkley and pale little skin saber. That has battle’s with the entrance to different variations of the female sock that you find in your sisters top draw. I don’t usually speak in such harsh tongue, but this was order from Mace Windu as he is truley repulsed by you all.

@Azj have you played a wii? have you played any games on it other than the nintendo made games? wii sucks as far as third party support goes. third party as in not made by nintendo, like this game.
A lot of 3rd party Wii games do suck. The price you pay for being the dominant console. But along with the crap you get Nintendo 1st party and 2nd party games which 90% or are instant classics with near perfect design and execution that become what every other game of the genre tries to live up to. To all those who think graphics are the most important thing in a game play Tetris for a few minutes….well try to play for a few minutes. After a few hours you might see the light that photo-realistic images don’t make a game.

Rogue squadron was awesome….
It looks to be a very stupid game. The developers are going to include an ALBINO rancor, all enemies attack you even though you are this all mighty powerful jedi, ignoring that fact that you are picking them up with your force and throwing them around the room. its so stupid!! why would you try to attack someone so powerful with a pistol??? and destroying enviroments with the force will become boring really fast, it looks so silly holding up stormtroopers in mid air and waving them about and up and down. This game has completely gone away from the true essence of what starwars really stands for.

And albino rancors? I agree, that’s stupid. When I went to the Cincinnati zoo all the rancors I saw were mottled brown. I asked the zookeeper and he told me that the last albino rancor died in captivity in the ’30s.

lol brilliant…i agree with the rancor thing…and also the enemies would probably be desperate to kill you taking any means at their disposal, since if they don’t kill you, they die…would you not go down fighting against something you know will kill you?

sorry for the double post, but d-man, this game is third party…i will admit, i love the nintendo games, they keep the retro-like feel in the photo-realism times. That’s good, but their third party support is poor at best. As far as being the dominant system, they really aren’t “Dominant” they are just the “cheapest and most family oriented” which drives parents to want this as well as youth. as of now, the 360 is the most “Dominant” and ps3 the “highest potential”. Sales wise, the wii is winning, but sales aren’t everything, since there are more game sales and more income per unit sold with the other systems. True, more people have the Wii rather than 360 or ps3, but when i think of Dominant, i think of something that has very few flaws, which all systems have, so perhaps in contrast to what i have already said, there is no dominant system, all 3 have their downfalls.
For the Wii – Bad 3rd party support, shoddy motion sense for accuracy
For the ps3 – Slow start, not enough big hit franchises yet
For the 360 – obviously the +30% failure rate

I do not know why you guys dont’t like it for the wii. OK it might have bad graphics but it is the best god damn game for the wii
