Daily Dojo Update: Knuckle Joe Punches His Way In

The torrent of information about the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Brawl never ceases. Today we get a look at a secondary character in the game in the form of one of the summonable Assist Trophys- Knuckle Joe. Unlike in previous Smash Bros. games, Brawl allows you to call a companion to your side who will make a quick strike and be gone. Similar in execution tot he Pokeballs littering the game, the Assist Trophy hides its contained character until used and depending on the choice – like Nintendogs or a Hammer Brother – they can change the flow of a battle very quickly.

Knuckle Joe is a denizen of the Kirbyverse. This oddly shaped pugilist unleashes “Chun-Li” style fist blows and Ryu’s charged lightning uppercuts. Of course they aren’t based on the Street Fighter characters but being someone who isn’t a ling time Kirby fan that’s the closest approximation I can make.
