Currently in Development – The Godfather 2

Gamasutra confirmed yesterday that The Godfather 2 is currently being developed by Electronic Arts. Siting a conversation between a shareholder and EA Games head Frank Gibeau regarding how EA deals with titles that are more mature and gritty, Gibeau stated that: “The appeal of those types of games is growing as the demographics start to open up for that older demographic”, and continued: “We make products like Godfather 2, Army Of Two, Crysis – a lot of products that appeal to that older customer and we have a good critical mass of franchises and brands.”

Gamasutra also notes that industry analyst Todd Greenwald believed The Godfather 2 was in development after paying a visit to EA, and now that Gibeau mentions The Godfather 2 in his conversation, this appears to confirm his assumption. No word on a release date or content was mentioned, but we will keep you up to date on any information that leaks.
