blue money Current Cost of Being a Hardcore Gamer

In my day, we only had 2 systems, and that’s how we liked it. There weren’t any of these fancy HD systems out, no need for costly yearly subscriptions to some “internet” service. You bought the Nintendo system and then maybe the Sega one if you were rich. Kids these days are just the most spoiled generation of all time. Those blockheads wouldn’t know 8-bit from 16-bit if their lives depended on it. Why just look at what a “hardcore” gamer has to purchase these days! Ol’ Lindy wouldn’t have put up with these ridiculous prices, by golly.

Gaming PC = $1200
2 games = $100
MMO subscription = $180/yr.

Nintendo Wii = $250
3 controllers + nunchucks = $180
2 games = $100

HD television = $700 (avg.)

Xbox 360 Pro Bundle = $400
3 wireless controllers = $150
2 games = $120
Xbox Live = $50

Playstation 3 = $500
3 wireless controllers = $150
2 games = $120

Standard Broadband Cable Service = $660/yr.
Standard Additional Energy Costs = $420/yr.
Est. Taxes (varies depending on location) = $700

Estimated Total Cost = $5980

For that same amount of money, we could have taken a trip around the world. Who cares? Have you seen the Screenshots for Halo 3?!
