The actual system REQUIREMENTS are low, Nvidia 6800 and a 2.8ghz single core cpu anybody?
Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't 6 series cards 2 freaking generations old and about 30$? If you are talking about the recommended specs being high, well, yea...thats what happens when you have a game that looks 10x better than anything else out. Sure the actual game play is kinda lame but thats not why anybody played Crysis.

Dragon:
'stupidly high system requirements, you need a Quad Core with an 8800 just to get a smooth frame rate'

I don't see how the system requirements are 'stupidly high' at all i can play this on low settings with just my P4 2.8, 1GB and a radeon X1600 pro at playable frames. you can pick up an 8800GT for just 160 GBP, quad core aren't much more.
I have played the demo and the gameplay is great, it seems people are trying to compare the gameplay with the graphics. Now that's just unfair.

Dragon said: 'it's also one of the reason PC gaming is dying a slow and painful death,'

Total rubbish. PC gaming is actually growing at a very healthy rate. Why do you think Dell are putting far more effort into the XPS models and why do you think they bought Alienware and HP bought Voodoo? Gateway have now brought out a range of gaming PCs and the Commodore brand has recently been resurrected selling high end gaming systems.

@Dragon: "it's also one of the reason PC gaming is dying a slow and painful death"

I hear this nonsense spouted as gospel all over the internet. However, there's absolutely no evidence that this is the case. In fact, it's just the opposite. The PC is still the premier place to play cutting edge games.

Sure, I like my PS3 and my 360. Yes, they are extremely fun to play. However, when I want to play a shooter with great graphics, a real-time strategy title, or a great MMO, where do I go? I go to my PC.

Sure, the NPD would have you believe that PC gaming make up a paltry 900-and-some-odd million dollars of revenue. It's not true, but that what they report. Why? They don't include things like Steam, Direct2drive, or any other form of digital distribution. They also don't take into account any subscription fees from games like WoW and EQ. WoW alone accounts for over $1 billion dollars in subscription fees alone. (9.3 million players @ an estimated $12 monthly)

So don't get caught up in the hype. PC gaming is far from dead.

I personally think Crysis is extremely over hyped, the graphics are just a candy coating for what is other-wise shallow gameplay, Crytek took all the things wrong with FarCry and just disguised them and threw in a super suit and prayed no-one would notice, it's also one of the reason PC gaming is dying a slow and painful death, stupidly high system requirements, you need a Quad Core with an 8800 just to get a smooth frame rate.
